Committees

In order to carry out all the projects that our club is involved with throughout the year, each member is asked to join one or more committees. 

Name Chairs Description
Club Meeting Committee Provide for effective weekly club meetings.
Fundraising Committee Provides and manages the club's fundraising efforts and projects, Submits funraising proposals to the budget committee and/or board for approval.
Human & Spiritual Values Committee Provides invocations/inspirational moments at club meetings and handles correspondence with members who are ill and bereaved families of members.
Interclub Committee Recruits members to attend other Kiwanis club's meetings as visitors. Provides reports on the visits to other clubs.
International Relations Committee Liaison to all international organizations and projects (such as orphanages, schools, etc.) directly supported by the club.
Meals on Wheels Provide drivers for Meals on Wheels deliveries from Beaverton's Elsie Stuhr Center on the fourth Thursday of the month.
Membership Growth, Orientation, and Retention Committee Oversees recruitment of new members and retention of current members, provides new member orientations and arranges club induction ceremonies.
Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp Committee Liaison to Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp for fundraising, informational, camp visit, and work party efforts.
Newsletter Publishes the weekly club newsletter.
Nominating Committee Recruits members for club offices and board of directors and nominates a slate each year for election at the club's annual meeting.
Oregon Food bank Recruit members to sort food at the Oregon Food Bank in Washington County.
Priority One: Young Children Oversees club programs supporting children from prenatal through five years.
Program Committee Provides programs for weekly club meetings by recruiting speakers or other presenters. Arranges audio-visual and other support for programs as needed.
Public Relations Committee Provides club news and announcements to local news media. Provides club informational material to other organizations.
Red Cross Blood Drive Provide support for the Red Cross at blood drives.
Safety Coordinator Oversees club safety related to insurance needs and project safety requirements.
Special Events Committee Oversees the special events celebrations (such as birthdays, significant club dates, etc.) at club meetings. Periodic social events at local restaurants are scheduled by the social eventchairperson.
Sponsored Youth Committee Oversees the club's support for Key Clubs and recruits members as advisors.
Youth Services Committee Provides club support to various youth programs.
